Caraway Seeds
The Caraway is a bienniel herb. It has small white flowers and feather like leaves. The dried seeds are hard, brown and pointy to touch. The caraway seeds have a pleasant, aromatic fragrance, are somewhat sharp to taste and leave a warm feeling in the mouth.
Caraway seeds have a very high oil content, almost perfectly balanced amino acid profile, contain ash, calcium, iron, niacin, phosphorus, potassium, riboflavin, sodium, thiamin, vitamin A and vitamin C. The herb is used as a tonic to activate the glands and increase the action of the kidneys and strengthen the functions of the stomach. Caraway seeds are regarded as an excellent housekeeper of the human body. The following conditions are also reported to be alleviated by the use of caraway seeds or their oil:
