Fennel Seeds

Fennel Seeds (botanical name: Foeniculum vulgare) are highly aromatic and flavorful. Originally from the shores of the Mediterranean it is now grown widely around the world.

Some of its properties are:

• carminative (prevents or relieves flatulence)
• anti-spasmodic
• expectorant (helps bring up mucous from the lungs)
• stimulant
• aromatic
• anti-inflammatory
• diuretic (increases urination and reduces water retention)
• rubefacient (dilates capillaries, increases blood flow and produces redness of skin)
