Reishi Mushroom Powder

Traditionally used in Asian remedies, reishi mushroom, known as the “mushroom of immortality,” is used as a powder or in teas, with a bitter, earthy flavor. It’s rich in antioxidants, B vitamins, and minerals like zinc and magnesium.

Red Reishi is commonly known in China as Ling Zhi which means “spiritual potency”. It has variously been called “Miraculous King of Herbs”, the “elixir of eternal youth𔄙, the “herb of immortality.” Reputed to have been used for over 4,000 years in Chinese medicine, it was mainly reserved for use by Emperors and others that were of Royalty.

A number of studies in Japan, the UK, China, and the USA have shown that Reishi mushrooms can produce numerous health benefits. These include but are not limited to:

It is non-toxic and can be taken daily without producing any side effects. When taken regularly, it can restore the body to its natural state, enabling all organs to function normally.

Ganoderma lucidum extract protects DNA from strand breakage caused by hydroxyl radical and UV irradiation.

Reishi is used to treat asthma, coughs, weakness and fatigue, and insomnia. Polysaccharides, coumarin, sterols, mannitol, and triterpenoids called ganoderic acides are the primary constituents of the mushroom.

The SOD in Ganoderma binds with heavy metals and helps the body inactivate and excrete them as well as enhancing free radical fighters and reducing oxidative damage.

...extract of Ganoderma lucidum... ...possessed significant antimutagenic activity. The effect... ...on hepatic enzymes, such as serum glutamate oxaloacetate transaminase (GOT), glutamate pyruvate transaminase (GPT) and alkaline phosphtase (ALP), were also evaluated. The extract prevented the increase of SGOT, SGPT, and ALP activities consequent to B[a]P challenge, and enhanced the levels of reduced glutathione (GSH) and activities of glutathione peroxidase (GPx), glutathione-S-transferase (GST), superoxide dismutase (SOD), and catalase (CAT). The extract also profoundly inhibited lipid peroxidation induced by B[a]P. The results revealed that Ganoderma lucidum extract restored antioxidant defense and prevented hepatic damage.
